My reflections on the Remembrance readings and Remembrance at Wellington

Remembrance is always a very important, and moving time at Wellington. In the First World War, 707 men who attended Wellington College died. That's more than the number of boys who attend Wellington today, and this gives us a real perspective on how terrible the war was.

Remembrance at Wellington is conducted beautifully, with extremely moving readings, and the laying down of the poppies in Front Quad, which leaves a poignant sense of sadness yet pride. Remembrance allows us to reflect on those who bravely fought for their country and gives us a reminder of how fortunate we truly are. Most importantly Remembrance gives us a chance to remember the lives of the brave and loyal soldiers of the British Army in the First World War. They gave up their lives to secure our safe future. We will remember them.
